Zhen was formed in early 2003 as a Fusion Clash three-piece outfit. It's sound is an amalgamation of Progressive Rock, Funk and Classical Music and Jazz.

The logo Zhen, symbolises Ingenuity in Mandarin. It is designed to look like an antiquated Official Chinese stamp, enforcing its Asian ethnicity and implying that the band’s music shall be a distinct trade-mark of its own. This strong imagery is a reflection of the intense ferocity in Zhen’s song-writing and performance processes.

With Eclectic Influences culled from the likes of Spyro Gyra, Rush, Bela Fleck and the Fleck Tones, Liquid Tension Experiment, John Petrucci, Vito Bratta, and Crytopsy etc. Zhen’s original compositions are not bounded by any musical conventions and often fuse various styles within a song.
