History
Having come a long way, Cesspit has gone through major
influences and changes to exist as what it is today.
Formed in the days when ska music was still new to the
local music scene, back in 1997, it was then a punk
rock band, consisting of 4 members. Early 2001 was Cesspit’s
first appearance as a ska band with 4 horns sections.
Then, Cesspit was renamed as ‘Kanine Dizeez’.
It reused ‘Cesspit’ in mid 2001.
Discography
Playing only mainly originals, Cesspit’s songs
emphasizes on structure and horn lines, as well as keeping
track of catchy tunes and melodies. Cesspit’s
influences come from swing, bossa nova, rock
& roll and world music. Places where they have performed
includes Esplanade, Takashimaya, Liquid Room, Sentosa,
YMS, Substation and various underground gigs. Cesspits’
album, “Best Before 050403” will be released
in April 2003. The Album includes songs coming from
two different genres, back when they were a punk band,
to the now ska sounds, consisting of the two time eras,
7 punk and 5 ska songs. Their trademark songs, “Wake
Up” and “In The Sun” includes.
